The purpose of the rules

These rules were created to promote the production of sustainable coffees and to support the improvement of coffee quality, certifying to the consumer of these coffees that the worst agricultural practices were eliminated. It is also intended to provide an inclusive code of conduct, adapting the proposed implementation actions and requirements to the reality of local producers, transforming it into a tool that supports and assists the producer without generating excessive demand in the already heavy work in the farms.


Good Agricultural Practices

The Neighbors and Friends Program establish through principles, norms and technical recommendations at all stages of production, intended to promote the provision of safe food, in order to take care of human health, protect the environment and improve the conditions of rural workers and their family.


Quality Control

Through decades of experience in the world of specialty coffees, Falcafé has a specialized and experienced team, which, seeking quality, is able to provide to the producers who are participating in the Neighbors and Friends program, all the assistance required for quality control.


Environment Preservation

The sustainable coffee sector is the one that respects and focuses on environmental preservation.
In the Neighbors and Friends Certification Program we deal with topics such as:
• Legal Reserve areas
• Permanent preservation areas
• Agricultural water usage Permit
• Waste management.


General Property Management

Good management is essential for any business, and coffee farming is no different. Among the requirements of our General Property Management rules, we address topics such as:

• Field records
• Legal Documentation
• Training and qualifications
• Human resource Management
• Health Management
• Machinery and Equipment Management
• Tax Management
• Crop Management.


Quality of Life

Ensuring quality of life for workers is demanded, so we highlight some matters, such as:
• Proper usage of PPE's
• Water quality control
• Clinical routine for exams
• Assurance of Human Rights
• Respect for labor freedom
• Safety at work
• Compliance with labor legislation.


Technical Assistance

Falcafé will also help the participating producer towards plant nutrition, post-harvest, sensory analysis and the sale of coffee. To achieve these goals, Falcafé holds field days with specific training focused on specialty coffees, in partnership with an important institution in Brazil which promotes the training for small and medium-sized producers, SENAR


Traceability

To guarantee the origin of the coffees sold by the partner producers in the Neighbors and Friends Program, Falcafé requires the implementation of a tracking system in order to meet the market's traceability standards.
